When we first branched out, we did market research on the pet product industry and arrived at two extreme phenomena. 1. A very high-end product with elegant colors and a high price is sold to niche markets. 2. Cheap products with trendy colors and materials that aren't only durable but also environmentally unfriendly. Unsatisfied with the results, we decided it might be our chance to set a new standard for the industry, which now became our current market positioning: to provide top-tier, multi-functional, durable, environmentally friendly products at a reasonable price for every pet owner. After setting up the production line, we quickly gained the recognition of consumers for our quality and price. Not only did we make a name for ourselves in the North American region, but we also made our mark in the fiercely competitive Hong Kong market.
One of our most beloved products is the Orthopedic Interlaced Air Bed, which was awarded "Best New Product of the Year" in two different exhibitions, "ExpoZOO" in Canada (2015) and "National Pet Industry Trade Show" in Canada (2015). The concept began with a small conversation with a veterinarian about finding the right mattress for an elderly dog at its end. The conclusion we reached was that there were none that met our standards. At the time, most orthopedic pet mattresses consisted of memory foam, but professionals pointed out that memory foam had two shortcomings: 1. While a memory foam mattress is molded around the user's body shape to provide support, it would take a longer time for it to bounce back up, which might cause an elderly or weak pet to have difficulty getting up. 2. Memory foam tended to get hotter the longer the user slept on it, which meant the pet might spend more time awake than resting.
Having these and some other ideas in mind, we are determined to develop a product that could provide good support (for joint and hip deformation), be well ventilated (less likely to heat up), and be moisture resistant (as many elderly pets might suffer from incontinence). During the process, we encountered a number of obstacles. The biggest issue was finding the right combination of materials that provided all the above characteristics. After numerous trials and errors, visiting and discussing with various material suppliers, and with the help of five factories in the United States and Japan, we were finally able to reach the desired result: the INTERLACED MATTRESS, a three-dimensional weaving structure that is light but highly resistant and features superior durability, air/water permeability, is safe, antibacterial, easy to wash, quick to dry, and is eco-friendly.
